HDF5 Radio Science Persistence Data Standard Project
This project is for the specification and implementation of a standard for using the HDF5 data format for storing and manipulating Radio Science related dat and meta data. The data stored using this data standard will be organized into a Radio Science namespaces and manipulated using higher level APIs which interact with HDF5. The APIs will be written in 'C' and Python initially although the specification of data and metadata for common data objects will be more widely useable.
Prototype Process
Initially a prototype will be constructed to test the suitability of HDF5 for this application. This prototype will be written using 'C' and Python so that the performance of the two can be compared.
